Job Title: CMM Programmer

Position Reports to: Quality Manager

Pay Classification: Non-Exempt

Education and Experience Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years’ current experience programming CMM

Skills Required:
• Proficient in advanced Calypso programming and Zeiss CMM operation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T as used in precision machined parts
• Proficient in CAD, Solidworks preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and calculate allowed bonus tolerances on measured parts.
• Experience with check fixture design and validation as part of new program development.
• Experience in the production part approval process.
• General knowledge to perform routine and preventative maintenance.
• Good organization skills and ability to multi-task and trouble shoot.
• Basic computer and good writing skills
• Possess good math, writing, reading and communication skills.

Minimum Job Requirements:
• Physical- capable of lifting 30 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodations. Proficient in using a PC keyboard.
• Working Hours- fulltime
• Personal Traits- Good communication skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge- must be able to read a print to detail.

Level of Responsibility and Authority:
Timely completion of job functions. Authority to pass/fail parts based on customer requirements. Authority to calibrate instruments and gauges in the plant as assigned.

Job Duties:
• Operate equipment within the parameters of the Company’s safety standards while meeting the customer’s quality requirements.
• Program CMM using Calypso with and without solid model.
• Operate CMMs to support production and development projects.
• Perform routine maintenance on CMM.
• Calibration of basic instruments and gauges in the plant.
• Incoming and in-process inspection of raw material and components, as required.
• Inspection of samples and first article and audit of finished parts.
• Complete Aerospace First Article Inspection Reports
• Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed. Be available for on-call needs as required.
• Understand the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
• Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction by working with Quality Manager.
• Work safely and ensure hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow company safety procedures.
• Communicate accurately and effectively to other individuals in the department as well as other departments.
• Complete task independently as instructed by Quality Manager.
• Follow and execute Quality System procedures including, instructions on job travelers control plan, and other procedures.
• Audit of materials and/or production parts before delivery to next operation area.
• Maintain neat and clean work area.
• Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Assist in monthly inventory process.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
